The weather was beautiful, the venues stunning and there seemed to be a great overall vibe rippling through not only the 450 or so Jones Lang LaSalle attendees, but also the production and events team itself.
Amsterdam was the chosen location for this bi-annual EMEA European Leadership event, a follow on from the 2011 Berlin conference, also produced and staged by us.
It proved to be a fantastic week of logistically demanding but cleverly orchestrated agenda segments covering off-site meetings and breakout sessions, a main plenary, two hotel locations, two dinners,an exhibition and city centre activities. The Jones Lang LaSalle Communications team worked side by side with our production team and 2e events who handled all logistics and event management. This proved to be a force to be reckoned with in the planning and implementation of such a complex and demanding event.
The Muziekegebouw, a purpose built music / symphony hall provided the central venue to house the main event, exhibition and gala dinner, with support from the adjoining Bimhuis jazz club for a much lower key ‘Ask the executive’ style Q&A on the final day.The in-house restaurant was also transformed into a very contemporary but brand focused ‘Tech Cafe’, with internal teams showcasing new technology and business tools. The exhibition or ‘Business fair’ as it was named, provided the main focus of attention for the Thursday afternoon segment, and overnight was stripped and the venue redressed for the following day’s plenary element.
The two hotels provided split accommodation but each also housing various planned and ad hoc meetings, client drink receptions and other business related events.
St Olof Chapel in the heart of the city housed a fantastic Welcome drinks evening, mixing history and culture, with the final highlight of the week being the conversion of the impressive Muziekgebouw main auditorium into a gala dinner event, and the ‘Tech Cafe’ area into an evening chill out space in under 1.5 hours ! No mean feat, but delivered and executed alongside Verhaaf Catering with absolute precision.
The historic and recently restored packet ship Prins van Oranje made an appearance over the few days providing an eclectic onsite lunch venue. It was also used to whisk all delegates off down the river -drinks and canapés in hand -prior to the gala dinner back at the main venue.
All in all a great event, for a great client, with a great team !
